The Words We Don’t Say

Once there were two beautiful hearts who fell in love. They fell in love in the silence between the words. That was the place where they saw each other. That was the place where they saw their lights. That was where they wrote their Song — in the silence of the silences.

The minds would later talk at length to feel what the hearts had already seen – the chemistry, the musical symphony, the sacred dance the two shared. They would flirt with ideas and philosophies, they would play with their words, and sometimes, they would be perfectly romantic without uttering a word. The love was sealed by Fate.

And then, one day, the girl went somewhere without telling the boy, and when she came back the boy was jealous.

“Where did you go?” Asked the boy.
“To find a new place where we can go and hide.” Whispered the girl, knowing the boy was insecure.
“Let’s go check it out!” The boy was now excited.

And some days later, it happened that the girl went out without telling the boy again, and again…

“Where were you?” The boy was agitated.
“To find something new for you.” Said the girl.
“Okay. Go play with it yourself.” The boy was angry.

The girl held back her tears and walked away with her surprise.

“Why did I do that?” The boy went to his secret place and cried.
“I could have said I’m sorry, show me what you found!”
Why did I not?”

The boy would sit there and cry, and the next day they were normal, waiting for the magic. The silence that was once their magic was now slowly becoming unbearable. The words that they didn’t say came with a burden their hearts were now feeling.

The silence that once brought them together was now tearing them apart.

How many words have you not said? Say them today, all at once.
